Is it to hot to go on a Cape York 4wd tour in Sep

When travellers are heading on a 4WD tour from Cairns to Cape York they are often concerned about the weather.

The average overnight temperature in Cape York will be 24 degrees from January to May then it drops down to 23 degrees from June to September with a slight increase from October to December of 25 degrees.

When we talk of daytime temperature history shows the following averages:

29 degrees from January to May then it drops down to 28 degrees from June to September with a slight increase from October to December of 31 degrees.

Cape York will always be a little higher than Cairns but overall not a great deal so your Cairns to Cape York tours will not see a variation of too much in temperatures.

We find the months of June and July are the most popular for Cape York tours more due to it being so cold in places like Melbourne and Sydney (where most of our customers live).

It seems more people are happy to get away from the southern winters to visit Cairns and Cape York during those cold times.
