Your tour starts with a complimentary pick up at your Cairns accommodation by a member of the team who will take you to the Cairns airport to board your scenic coastal flight from Cairns to Bamaga at the top of Australia. This is where your Tour Guide will meet you off the flight and introduce you to your fellow tour travellers. We visit the famous Croc Tent and travel through the drier savannah woodlands which will change into dense rainforest before opening at the deserted beaches at Australia’s most northern point. We walk as a group to “The Tip” at the very top of Cape York Peninsula, celebrate together and take photos. After taking in the spectacular views of the Torres Straits and the surrounding beaches we will have lunch at Somerset Beach, which was the home and now resting place of Frank Jardine, visit these historic graves on the beach. Dinner tonight will be at Loyalty Beach to relax and take in far north Oceanside beauty.

We both thoroughly enjoyed the 10 day tour to Cape York. Mark and Lisa were superb hosts for the tour. Mark's knowledge of the Cape was great and informative with a touch of humour as well as Rick for the eastern part of the journey. We were the first tourists on the day to the Top of Australia thanks to Mark's advice about arriving early to beat the crowds. This allowed us to get our pictures without rushing.
We were most impressed with the meals on tour. Lisa did a mighty job.
We were surprised and grateful for the tents being rigged at each of the overnight stops.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this tour.

July 2019
This was a great experience and totally would recommend. I think having a remote experience in a small group tour with great drivers (thanks Terry and Ian )was definitely the way to get to the tip and enjoy the travel without the worrying about anything. They found paths through scrub that were off the beaten track and I totally lost track of creek crossings. Great 4 wheel drive experience. Camp food was 5 stars, tents and camp bed was very comfortable and there was a lot of group commraderie made with helping our great guides with a bit of washing up, etc. Thanks Cathy for an itinerary that leaves nothing out for a Far North Queensland adventure June 2019
Yes thanks Cath and I are well and we both thoroughly enjoyed our camping safari in far north Queensland. They are a professional well organised outfit. All of the staff were very helpful and our two drivers/guides Terry and Ian are a ‘wealth’ of information with running commentary on topics ranging from many historical events/lifestyles in the Cape to the fauna and flora in these areas. They are both excellent drivers and went out of their way to provide valuable information/’look after’ each and every person on the trip. The operation and format of the tour is ideal and streamlined, from the camping arrangements to the food/cooking facilities. We weren’t asked to ‘pitch in’ to help, however our group did this voluntarily which was well appreciated by Terry and Ian. They were also very relaxed and flexible/no pressure with the ‘schedule’. We got to see and do everything on the itinerary plus more than what was expected in my opinion. The ‘happy vibe’ was evident within the group. Terry and Ian were the catalyst for this.
The personalised small group touring option did meet all of our expectations and I would thoroughly recommend them to any traveller seeking this sort of tour format/adventure.

June 2019
We had a marvellous time on our tour. We so enjoyed it. The itinerary was excellent, the accomodation was acceptable, knowing we were in remote areas. The food was excellent and plenty of it every day. Our guide, Mick, was amazing. He was so interesting, patient and caring. He has a good knowledge of the places we went to and his driving was both safe and skilful.
The itinerary was excellent as well. We would however, have loved more time on Thursday Island and Horn Island. It was so amazing, we had no idea that Horn Isl was so involved in Australia’s defence during WW2. I realise that these two tourist spots are geared around the ferry and plane times but just would have liked ,more time to look around.
Thank you for a fantastic tour, we have shared our experiences with our friends. Sincerely, Rob and Jan
June 2019
We had a fantastic trip with Mark and Lisa and 15 other wonderful campers. Mark drove the truck demonstrating his driving expertise as we headed through creek crossings and corrugated roads. We never went hungry with Lisa’s cooking. We were amazed on what she could produce over a bush fire and there was always desert! To our delight we didn’t have to put up the tents????. Their knowledge of the area was informative. Our tour was everything we expected plus more. Would recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys bush camping and the company of like minded campers.

June 2019
We loved our recent tour to Cape York with Terry & Ian as our guides. They are very knowledgeable and made us feel safe where ever with travelled. We will spread the word about the tour with our friends.
We had great people to travel with but the accommodation in the ECO style home on the last 2 nights meant we were spilt into 2 groups and had little contact.
Cathy & Michelle made us feel very welcomed and we loved the end of the trip welcome back.
Thanks again
Ray & Vicki
May 2019
We enjoyed our Cape York Tour.
Trinity Bay was excellent very well organised, crew especially Pauline (Purser) made everyone feel welcome.
Tour we were disappointed in that there was only 4 guests including ourselves reason for doing camping tour was to meet other people and sit at night and have after dinner chats. Maybe an idea to let guests know when there are so few guests.
Mark and Lisa (driver and host) were very informative on our journey.
Cape York Tours were very helpful when we were organising our trip.

May 2019
Our tour to Cape York was a wonderful experience with excellent commentary along the way. The driver Andrew certainly knows his job well and is very passionate about the area. He was so helpful too with some of the less fit people when we were doing the climb to the "tip".
Overall we enjoyed our eight day tour and would not have seen half as much if we would have navigated the Cape ourselves.
I would recommend to anyone wanting to do the Cape York peninsula.
Ross & Brenda
July 2018
Thanks girls, and the tour was fantastic. Guides excellent. 11 days was enough. Don't think I would recommend for the unfit - some of the older found it tiring, with the setting up of tents every day. Well organized.
Cheers Jane
July 2018
We loved it every bit of it!!!! The young tour guides made the trip they are bottled gold!! Don’t lose them they made the trip more enjoyable
Thanks Wendy n Don
July 2018
Just to let you know we arrived home yesterday after a great tour of Cape York. We would thoroughly recommend this tour company, especially for people who enjoy an authentic camping experience. Our drivers, guides and cooks, were excellent and the owner, very helpful. We hope you recommend this tour to other people who wish to visit this beautiful part of Australia.
We would also like to thank you and the rest of the team at Cape York Tours for your help and promptness in answering any queries we had.

July 2018
Booking & reservations: straightforward, 10/10
The Tour itself: fantastic - comfortable seating in the bus, a very informative & entertaining guide/driver (always gave priority to our safety & comfort), interesting locations, accommodation was as to be expected & exceeded in Cooktown & Weipa, the food supplied was fresh & plentiful, so 10/10
June 2018
Hello, I just wanted to let you know my husband and I did the 15 Day camping tour and we were thoroughly impressed with the whole tour. Our driver was very professional with his organisation but yet made us feel very relaxed with our holiday as well. We met great people which also made this a very enjoyable experience.
Thank you

June 2018
Thank you. It was a great trip in every respect and fully met my expectations. That trip on Trinity Bay was outstanding. The food was well beyond my expectations and the tour leader was efficient, attentive, knowledgeable and a really nice lady as well. The experience on a working cargo vessel was very enlightening and enhanced the cruise.
The trip through the Cape was also excellent with two outstanding your tour leaders in Hayden and Meakan. I thought the camping was well planned and comfortable and the meals excellent. The venues visited were interesting and the experience in this remote and interesting part of our country was better than I anticipated.
Overall, an excellent trip and highly recommended for those willing and able to engage in the camping experience.
Thanks Graeham
September 2017
We had a fantastic day - the trip north went like clockwork. Some cloud but the pilot managed to slip between or below to highlight the sights. The Airlines were terrific hosts - fed us well and ensured we had a safe walk for the final km to Cape York. I am happy to recommend the trip to anyone who may be interested.

August 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the tip. Firstly our cruise on the cargo ship. Enjoyed the experience, the trip was comfortable. We even had the luck to see some whales which we didn't expect. It was interesting to see the cargo being transferred from ship to ship and ship to land.
Now to the food. OMG how spoilt were we.
Our trip to Horn Island and Thursday Island was very enjoyable.
Next part of the trip (the land). How did you find such wonderful guides. We received our tent instructions and how to make life easy for everyone by following simple instructions. We got into an excellent routine quickly which left us with plenty of time to see the sites. Both guides were very informative and knew what they were talking about.
Our Eco tour in Weipa was wonderful and again the guides were informative.
Our night times were extremely enjoyable. Listening to the guitar and eating awesome food. The best part of the tour was meeting people we otherwise would not have met.
So thank you for the wonderful tour it was thoroughly enjoyable and will certainly spread the word.
Cheers Monika and Damien August 2017
We did the 8 day drive/fly option with wonderful Mick as our driver and had a very entertaining and enjoyable trip. Mick had a great sense of humour, was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful in all respects and also a great driver through all that rough terrain. Loved the river crossings and the rough roads- we had 6 passengers so it was a full car, but it was comfortable and quite adequate and a lot of fun. The accommodation and food was good and we had ensuites in all places except for Loyalty Beach. We learnt a lot about the history of early Australia and about the native vegetation, travelling through beautiful and varied outback scenery. Loved staying at the Stations, particularly Bramwell Station, and also travelling through the Lakefield National Park and swimming under waterfalls. Although we were all there to reach the tip, the excitement of the journey was as much a highlight and it was all topped off by the visit to the Torres Strait islands. Couldn't recommend it more highly. A sensational trip to remember.

July 2017
We were very happy with the tour we did to Cape York. All aspects were faultless and we felt that the money we spent was well worth it.
We were particularly lucky to have spent 2 nights at the Moreton Telegraph Station and also for the stay at the Peninsular Lodge at Barmega. These accommodations were of a higher standard than we expected in this area.
Thank you.
Angela and Bill
July 2017
We had an amazing time for the 12 days. We could not fault the food especially on the Trinity Bay and were astounded how our guide Dee on the camping could work hard all day and at the end of it present a meal in the open fire for all our campers. She was not only knowledgeable about fauna and animals, but a great cook and very personable. As for Geoff, he entertained us with his stories, information and his singing. Both the guides were outstanding and created a tour that we will never forget, singing around a camp fire under the stars wow.
This tour is not for anyone that wants to have everything done for them. We had to set up and undo our tents and some of the tent sites were very basic but that was part of the experience.
Overall this trip fulfilled everything we wanted from our visit to Cape York and would not of done it any other way. Thank you for the good times and memories.
Fiona and Tim.

June 2017
I did enjoy the tour. The tour guides were terrific. I especially enjoyed Port Stewart with the Aboringal Elder and at Laura Split Rock with Aboriginal guide. That was something very special. Thank you
Chris May 2017
My tour all went like clockwork and lived up to my expectations. On the cruise and camping trip we had excellent meals. The staff at our pre-tour accommodation were ultra friendly and helpful, especially when I left my mobile behind. I appreciate the pre-tour suggestions for the best date to travel to the far north and advice regarding Cairns tours and then help booking them.
It simplified everything for me and I'll certainly be recommending the trip to family and friends.
Hopefully down the track I can do another tour with you.
Many thanks
May 2017
My 15 daytrip to the top of Cape York was great. The two driver guides, Danny and Terry were excellent , their knowledge of the area especially the remote Lockhart River area was outstanding. I would highly recommend this trip and company to anybody who wanted a personalised small group tour to Cape York .
Regards from Graeme

December 2016
We loved our Cape York Adventure. The tour guides on both the Trinity Bay (Maurine) and on the 4WD land component (Hirani) were 'top class', our travelling companions in the group were very mixed and interesting people, and the staff generally throughout did their utmost to ensure we saw and did as much as possible to quench our adventurous thirst.
The 'Trinity Bay Experience' is now on our not to be missed travel guide 'to do' list. Excellent food and bevereges, welcoming crew and plenty to see and engage the senses along the way.
It was a bonus and pleasant surprise when we finally disembarked at Seisia, meet up with Hirani (our Squadron Leader, Friend and Mentor) and the trusty 4WD which would take us on the wonderful journey through a selection of FNQ offerings and back to Cairns. Truly a journey to cherish, and one that's up there with others in our most memorable journeys basket..

November 2016
Greg and I enjoyed every minute of the 8 day trip. Mick our driver/guide was extremely affable, A most competent driver, and also good at a BBQ. He had a great knowledge of the history of the pioneers and pastoralists in the areas he took us through. The accommodation and food was excellent. Especially the packed lunches.
Best Regards Jan Greg

October 2016
We both enjoyed our trip - an experience of a life time. The tour of Horn Island was great.
Loyalty Beach shared accommodation was also great and the staff were fantastic and the food was great. Fruit Bat Falls were another highlight. Bramwell Station (FANTASIC) Food there was great and the entertainment spot on.
Lakefield National Park was excellent. The total experience was amazing and we totally enjoyed the company of the other guests. The Driver Mick as very knowledgeable and entertaining. The booking process went so smoothly.
We have no hesitation on recommending Cape York Tours to our family and friends for a fantastic Holiday.
Kind Regards John and Lyn

October 2016
I very much enjoyed the camping tour. I thought it was very well organized and everything went perfectly, perhaps partly due to the military precision of our guide. It was a unique experience and I will probably never do anything quite like this again.
The procedure was very straightforward and I appreciated the follow up/ pre travel information and the prompt reply to my questions.
Regards, Dave

We have just completed our tour of Cape York with Hirani as our guide. We have had a trip of a life time with so many memorable moments. We were most impressed with all aspects of the tour, and would highly recommend this tour to all.
We found the tour to be very relaxing and well organised.
Many thanks to Hirani for the wonderful job as our tour guide and driver.
Many thanks,
Robyn & Richard August 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The guides were amazing, and the food excellent, taking in to consideration the remoteness of our adventure. The trip was value for money!!

Our trip to Thursday Island was very interesting, as was Horn Island.

Cheers Doreen

I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Cape York, I would have to say everything was a highlight - I guess because it was so different to any other travel that I have done in recent years.
Andrew was an amazing driver/guide, his knowledge and enthusiasm was incredible and his eagerness in sharing ‘his' Australia was rewarding to we city dwellers. Also, I appreciated his attention to those of us with dietary requirements, especially my food allergies. A thoroughly friendly and personable man who certainly ‘made’ our trip.
The truck was more comfortable than I had anticipated and the rotation of seating worked well.
Accommodation was a bit rustic, but we expected that and it was more than adequate.

Hi Tammy,
We returned last night from a memorable 15 day camping tour of Cape York and would like to commend you for your excellent service.
Our two guides, were outstanding with their knowledge of the natural environment & local history.
They were great company, provided wholesome meals, drove safely at all times & encouraged bonding of the group. We had a lot of fun & made some great new friends.
We're glad we chose to travel in in a smaller group & found the troup carrier vehicle ideal.
Our guides went out of her way to insure that we had the best time possible.
It certainly was money well spent & we will be recommending you to others considering a similar trip.
Regards Warren Sue & Anne

We have just completed our tour of Cape York with Hirani as our guide. We have had a trip of a life time with so many memorable moments. We were most impressed with all aspects of the tour, and would highly recommend this tour to all.
We found the tour to be very relaxing and well organised.
Many thanks to Hirani for the wonderful job as our tour guide and driver.
Many thanks,
Robyn & Richard

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to "the tip". OUr guides were amazing and provided a huge amount of information, great meals and lots of fun.
I have to say that from my first contact with Cape York tours everything was confirmed immediately and any queries I had were responded to promptly. Thank you

Thanks I had a terrific tour. Good tour guide and driver Gave me great support enabling me to walk to the tip of Cape York with his help. Very knowledgeable and engaging. Encouraged participation within the group and respected those who didn't want to be as involved ie myself. Exceptional site visits and extraordinary views and scenery.
Our accommodation with en-suite was very good with only Bramwell Station being cramped and a little uncomfortable but given the environment and the uniqueness of this station it was reasonable.
All evening meals where good to excellent. Overall a good trip and enjoyed the many exceptional sites and history about the Cape as well as seeing the fauna and flora.

Me and my husband both had a great trip although the one day of very heavy rain we had in Weipa meant that the rivers were too high and/or roads closed which meant we couldn’t go to either Iron Range or Wakefield N.P.’s. Both the driver and operator are to be commended for filling our itinerary with other options when the weather proved tricky. We still enjoyed travelling through all the remote wild areas and up to Thursday and Horn Islands.
Our driver was an excellent driver and cook and looked after us all very well.
Finally, the booking process was straight-forward and staff were always quick to respond to any queries I had.
Thanks Ann

Thanks for your email - I had a wonderful time in Cape York - the whole trip was fantastic and thankyou for all your help. I just want to say a couple of things:
Hiranyi - the guide - was fantastic. Could you pass this on to the hierachy - she was very professional, a lovely person and, as I have said, was great in every aspect.
I think a day, or extra time, in Cooktown, and perhaps an overnight stay on Thursday Island would be great. There is a lot to see there.

This might be a little difficult to arrange and maybe an extra day or two would need to be incorporated, but I thought it was worthwhile mentioning.

However, I really did have a great time and, once again, thanks for organising it.

Brilliant! Did everything and saw everything we wanted. Danny was knowlegable and friendly and entertaining. This relaxed style made us enjoy every minute and if it wasn't for Mel at Cape York Tours organising it all for us, we would not have had such a great time. Even Danny was so relaxed he forgot what day it was.

Hi Birgit

We had a fantastic trip to the cape. It was a real adventure and we didn't really know what to expect on reaching some destinations. The drivers were very friendly, safe drivers, and very knowledgeable on the history of the cape. We had a lovely bunch of fellow travellers with plenty of laughter.

Hi Andrew,
We had a wonderful trip through Cape York. It turned out that our driver was the owner who was getting to know his customers. he was very informative and entertaining. His assistant chef cooked amazing meals on the camp fire. WE were very satisfied with the tour and with the service provided by your company, regards,

Yes, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Everything worked out beautifully. The truck was a dream to travel in, considering the corrugations on some parts of the road and the tour director and assistant were very knowledgeable and helpful. The meals were outstanding, considering the facilities our cook worked with. The tents were easy to put up and pull down and were quite roomy, but we're glad we hired the stretchers. The camp sites were also better than I expected with quite good facilities (for a bush camp). Unfortunately, I do not have a computer (use the one at the library for emails) and am not very good at technology. I have no idea how to email photos but I am sure others in the group would do this. The group were all really nice, very compatible and made good travelling companions, enhancing the fun and socialability of the whole trip. Thank you for arranging it for us. We may be interested in a trip to the Kimberley/Darwin for next year but haven't began to look at it yet. I note that your company do that as well so will look into it further soon.

Yours faithfully,

Thank you for your part in enabling me to travel on a 15 day Cape York camping tour. I was really impressed with the owner's commitment to ensuring our tour was enjoyable and that we were able to complete the tour despite some unexpected vehicle issues. Given the roads we travelled nothing can ever be a surprise! Both her tour leaders were competent and committed to ensuring that every person enjoyed the tour. They have a wonderful knowledge and interest in the history, flora and fauna of the Cape.

I would also like to thank Cathy and Danny for catering for my special diet needs being gluten and lactose free. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them.

I certainly would, and have recommended this company to others. I had a wonderful time, met some lovely people and learnt a lot of new things about my country.

Thank you once again.

Hello Girls,

But who cares I loved every morsel.

The boat trip up amazing and Jude and the crew all polite and the food amazing.

Thanks for a great time and I will still keep telling everyone about you.

Hi Tammy,

I had a great trip to Cape York and one to remember for a long time,

didn't miss out on anything .

thank you forma great trip :)

Having just returned to my home in the UK after having been on the 15 day tour from Cairns to The Tip with your company I thought you might like some feedback on how the trip turned out.

Firstly, the itinerary looked interesting and the idea of making such a trip in a small group was intriguing after having previously been on a 21 day tour from Perth to Darwin as a member of a much larger group.

Secondly and most importantly, I was very glad that we did go with your company because the tour was excellent in every respect. It more than met my expectations and as the tour progressed it became obvious that a lot of thought had gone into how the schedule would unfold and for that Cathy should be congratulated.

Thirdly, our driver/cook/guide and outback mentor, Danny, played a massive part in making the tour the success it undoubtably was. He has all the attributes required of a successful group leader and with him in charge I'm sure all trips in the future will be as successful as ours.

Many thanks for getting it right.

Kind regards

Thank you for your email. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of seeing the 'tip'. It was a fabulous trip and Hirani was a very competent and capable guide and driver. We were extremely lucky to have such good weather at the end of the season. My only comment/suggestion would be to have more time in Cooktown. This was a very interesting place and unfortunately we didn't arrive until late and were off early the next morning. Again, I would have loved to have extra time on Thursday Island perhaps missing Weipa. I must thank all the overnight destinations on their wonderful food and hospitality. For such remote destinations they were fantastic. I was in the travel industry for 20 years and would rate this trip among one of my best.
Thank you for the opportunity of feed back.
